H.E Mrs. Liguemoh Presents Credentials to OPCW

THE HAGUE, The Netherlands:
On Monday, December 21, 2020, Her Excellency Ambassador Mrs. LIGUEMOH ONDOUA Madeleine presented her letter of credentials to H.E. Ambassador Fernando Arias, Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the Hague, The Netherlands. During the ceremony, Ambassador LIGUEMOH reaffirmed Cameroon’s commitment to a world free of chemical weapons.

In 1997, Cameroon became an active member of OPCW, which is the international body working to enforce the UN Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons (CWC).
The mission of OPCW is to implement the provisions of the Chemical Weapons Convention to achieve a world free from chemical weapons and threats of their use.
Currently, the Republic of Cameroon is a member of the Executive Council (the governing body) of the OPCW made up of 41 members states elected by the Conference of the States Parties and rotates every two years.
